W Bay StCable Beach 242-327-7805
Description:
A lovely destination for a quiet, relaxed, romantic evening, Androsia has everything going for it. Gracious hosts and expert staff, a fine Continental menu, and what is widely regarded as one of the prettiest settings on the island. The specialty of the house is Peppersteak au Paris, a sirloin served with a sauce of Dijon mustard, cracked peppercorns, cream and brandy. There are numerous other options as well, including a nice selection of local seafood. Reservations are definitely recommended.
Blue Lagoon
(Restaurants - Continental)
Paradise DrParadise Island 242-363-2097
Description:
Tasteful nautical décor, augmented with terra cotta tiles and potted plants, creates a lovely backdrop from which to enjoy great views and wonderful food. The menu covers all the bases, offering both Bahamian favorites and traditional Continental dishes. Among the most popular options are conch fritters, conch salad, snapper creole, grouper amandine, seafood filled crepes, Lobster Thermidor, baked quail, chateaubriand and grilled shrimp. Desserts are mostly fruit-based, and often dramatically flambéed tableside. Ideal for a quiet, romantic dinner for two.
Buena Vista
(Restaurants - Continental)
Delancy StNassau 242-322-2811
Description:
From its perch above the harbor, the revered Buena Vista has offered exceptional Continental cuisine since 1975. Situated in a historic mansion dating back to 1788, the restaurant caters to well-heeled vacationers and guests with a penchant for the finer things in life. Some of the local fare has made its way onto the menu, such as conch chowder and grouper, but the best choices are decidedly European in origin. Standouts include a terrine of foie gras and truffles, and beef tenderloin in Madeira sauce with artichoke and mushrooms. Service is near perfect. Upstairs are a handful of spacious hotel rooms, each with a private bath, A/C, TV, fridge, coffeemaker, iron. The usual hotel facilities are lacking here (no pool, no business center, and so on), but on the other hand the rates are fantastic, the rooms are clean, the location is superb, and one of the top restaurants in Nassau is right at your feet.
Columbus Tavern
(Restaurants - Continental)
Paradise Island DrNassau 242-363-5923
Description:
This is Paradise Island's only waterside restaurant, so you know the setting alone will make a meal here special. Luckily, the food is just as awesome as the ocean view. Dishes tend to be Continental, but many have a Bahamian twist. Traditional main courses such as herb roasted Cornish hen, Veal Française and Steak Diane prepared tableside are joined on the menu by grouper stuffed with crab, Caribbean snapper, and blackened mahi mahi on spinach with guava salsa. Standout desserts include key lime pie, crème brûlée, and the local favorite, guava duff. The tavern's breakfast and lunch menus feature a good variety of local and international options there truly is something for everyone.
